In this verse Mina is involuntarily the traitor because instead of being in a coma her mother went under a full mental break down with the villain. Her mother reports to Shigaraki and lets him know about all of the events that happen because Mina blabs to her about everything and hears everything that goes on around school.
A student from 1-A knows she’s the traitor only by chance because they caught her mom meeting up with Shigaraki while out in the city. Of course they didn’t interact but they overheard a line of dialog that dropped Mina’s name.
When Mina is outed as the traitor she swears up and down that she isn’t because she wasn’t aware of what had happened to her mother. She knew that she was acting weird but she thought it was because of what had happened to her.
Even though it wasn’t her fault and she’d never meant any harm she was booted from U.A. because they couldn’t risk the security and well being of their students.
Not long after this Mina was held captive by the League and had to watch as her Mother was burned alive. She was given a pitch similar to the one they gave Bakugou how ever U.A. had actually cast her out due to something that was out of her control.
Mina has burn marks up and down her arms from trying to stop the fire but Dabi’s quirk was far too strong for her.
She spent several weeks there as she kept trying to use her acid to break free but the restraints were far too strong and they had a good point. Even though she was innocent of blame they still kicked her out. She slowly noticed that their reasoning was making even more sense.
After her mind finally breaks Mina dons her name that she’d originally given herself in homage to her mother ‘ Alien Queen ’ and joins the League.
The first sighting of Mina in a year was a blurry video of her walking away with the league, behind them from a message written in blood. “ Innocence is dead - U.A. is guilty. “ The last bit of the video is her turning around and launching her new attack ‘ acid rain ‘ and the horrified screams of the student filming in their final moments. The blood used to write the message was from several U.A. students who went missing, their body parts scattered along the entrance to the school.
“ i used to want to SAVE THE WORLD. to end WAR and bring PEACE to mankind. but then, i glimpsed the DARKNESS that lives within their LIGHT. && i learned that inside EVERY ONE of them, there will always be BOTH. a choice each MUST make for themselves. something NO HERO will ever defeat. && now i know, that only LOVE can truly SAVE the world. so i STAY, i FIGHT, and i GIVE, for the WORLD i know can be. “

“ wow , wow , wow ! i can’t believe you remembered that baku - kun ! “ actually she can. bakugou was an endless fountain of knowledge and it seemed like there was nothing that he couldn’t do at times. still she looked up at him with sparkling eyes and fists energetically pumping up and down as she bounced on the back of her heels.
with a happy little squeal she clasped her hands around the hot drink. strawberry flavored hot chocolate. something that starbucks only makes around february but it was her absolute favorite drink. the fact that he remembered that brought a little hop to her step and giggle started to bubble from her lips.
“ yanno , you’ve really grown a lot ! old baku - kun would’ve rather been caught dead before doing a nice thing for his friend. let alone in public. “ she gasped dramatically but to be honest she was only jesting. she really liked having bakugou as a friend but what were friends if they didn’t tease each other and be honest ? baku really had grown a lot , that part wasn’t a joke.
mina was really proud of him. he really was a good guy despite what most people thought of him. he’d make an amazing hero , she was certain of it.
a gentle gaze is pointed in izuku’s direction as the offer was made. he was always so sweet and considerate. as the warm jacket wrapped around her shoulders a faint blush crossed her cheeks. it was like she was enveloped in a nice big warm hug and his scent tickled her nose as she took in a deep breath. it was enough to make a hopeless romantic like mina swoon.
tugging it snug around her form she ducked her head under his arm and walked along side him. “ thank you izu - kun you’re really the sweetest. “ she giggled softly as she let her eyes fall shut momentarily.
she just wanted to let herself enjoy her time with the boy she was very much in love with. even after all this time her heart raced a mile a second , pounding so loud in her chest that she feared that he might hear it. with a giddy skip to her walk she rested her head onto his shoulder. knowing him he was probably blushing as much as her if not more so. he was always so genuine , maybe that’s why she’d fallen for him.
in a world full of lies and heart break it was nice to find someone like izuku. someone who was genuine and real. someone who was wholesome and good. she needed someone like that in her life. she was so glad to have met midoriya izuku. life would have been so dull without him in her world.
